Guatemala City

among those whom they so dearly beloved, and among those who had so dearly beloved them--for they were treated as though they were angels sent from God to save them... Alma 27:4

As we drove to the temple, Frank pointed out an aqueduct that was there when he was in 1965. After the temple session we got a group picture: Us, Halls, Gibbons, and Kitleys. Then we were able to get pictures with the Cabreras, Guillermo and Berta Cabrera. Frank baptized Berta when he was in Quetzaltenano in 1965. He is now in the temple Presidency of the Guatemala City Temple. It was a very joyful time to be with them again.

As we were taking pictures of the Cabreras, a woman named Sara came. The woman and the Cabreras are from Quetzaltenango but live in Guatemala city now. Sara was a young girl when Frank taught her family the gospel. Such choice people and such a miracle that we were able to meet with them and feel of their love and kind spirit.

After we had lunch we went to the Relief Map. It is a map of Guatemala made on the ground. It shows the cities, rivers, moutains. In the first picture Frank is talking to our driver Rudy, as they are looking down upon the map. A picture of some of the details of the map and us standing in front of the map on the ground level.

Frank standing by a Hands statue. When Frank was on his mission he played baseball for the city team of Guatemala city. The ball park was next to the Relief Map park. Then we took a group photo: Halls, Kitleys, Gibbons and us.

As we were leaving Frank had a conversation with one of the guards of the area. Of course I like to take pictures of beautiful flowers. Then we drove downtown to the central plaza. This is one of the government buildings across from the plaza.

These pictures are of the downtown plaza. You can see the big Catholic church and park behind Frank. There were Indians dressed in their colorful clothes selling things. Brother Kitley is taking a picture and Brother Gibbons is looking at the merchandise. Next we went to Pres. and Sister Masks home for dinner and a discussion about the land of the Book of Mormon.

Of course we ended the night with pictures. Sister Kitley, Pres. Mask, Brother Kitley, Gibbons, Us and Halls. Frank and Pres. and Sister Mask. Frank and Pres. Mask both served in Central America at the same time. She also served a mission in Central America. It was a great evening, a great day.
