The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator. Alma 30:44
Our first stop was at Lake Coatepeque. It seems like where ever there is some ground they grow corn. This corn was growing right next to the overlook. A good start to a beautiful day.
We drove through and stopped at Concepcion de Ataco. Many of the buildings had beautiful paintings on the outside. At the plaza there were huge, incredible trees. The branches are amazing. This is the bus were in and the children were just getting out of school. They wear school uniforms. It was a lovely little town.
These 3 pictures were inside a store. When you first entered it was a regular store. As you walked through it you came to a small cafe with tables and chairs, walk through that and you are at the weaving shop. They do not work on Mondays so we were not able to watch them weave.
We stopped for lunch at Jardin de Celeste. There was a small beautiful garden right next to our table. I loved how they put flowers in water, to create a pretty design. The food was very good.
After lunch we went to the Juayua. In the first picture Frank is talking to the lady about the church and giving her a pass along card. We ran into the missionaries who work in this area. The lovely water fountain is in the middle of the plaza. Before we left this town, the Thompsons and us wanted to hike to the falls. It was a dirt and bumpy road to get to the starting point. Two young boys were are guides.
As we were hiking down the trail, we came to this garden of beans. Jose help me often and I was glad that Frank made it down all right without falling. This was the first waterfall we saw.
Different views of this waterfall. Notice the metal bridge between us and Jose. We had to walk across that. Jose held my hand when I walked across. I guess people do swim in the water.
More pictures of the water falls. The Thompsons made the hike with us. The others waited in the bus for us. It was 20 min. down and 40 min. back up to the bus.
