Here we are at the Layco chaple with two missionaries, Petersens and Brother Mendez.
Thursday Night we had Karla and Gabriel Mendez over for dinner. I served left over meatloaf and homemade wheat bread. She just loved the bread and wants me to teach her how to make it. Petersens were speaking at the Layco Stake Conference on Sunday and Bro. Mendez was directing them how to get there. So he invited us to come with them and have lunch at their home after church.
A picture of the Mendez and us taken at their apartment. Some of their walls are painted the bright pink. We had Chinese food for lunch which he had picked up on his way back from getting the Petersens home. She was not feeling well Saturday, so was not able to prepare anything for dinner.
I thought this was a good picture of Frank and also a good picture of me and Karla. After lunch we visited for a while. Then we all got in a Taxi and came home. They are very kind to us and it was great to be with them. Their home is very humble. We walked up 5 flights of stairs, no air conditioning, no oven, cook on a hot plate, and small rooms. They said it was an honor for us to be in their home. They appreciate our example and hope they can serve a mission when they are older.

Fun post. The Méndez are a great couple. How nice you could spend the afternoon with them. And then to have Chinese food...yum.
Reminds me of our "Chinese Fridays" in Buenos Aires.
Love your blog.
Love, Eileen
